19 of Medvedev's twenty-one victories have been won on hard courts
A comeback the Russian player claimed his first championship for over two years with a win over Frenchman Moutet in the tournament final.
Medvedev, a former top-ranked player, has experienced a challenging season, managing just a single victory at the major tournaments and experiencing a meltdown at the New York tournament.
The player's inconsistency on the professional circuit - and struggles with his serving in especial - caused him dropping out of the world's top 10 and finally separating with former coach his previous coach.
Presently working with Johansson and Goetzke, the tennis star has consistently advanced in the recent weeks - culminating in a closely contested three-set triumph over opponent Corentin Moutet.
This represents his maiden trophy following the Rome competition and first on a hardcourt from March of 2023.
The win also indicates the Russian has achieved 21 championships at 21 different events.
"It's the first time I'm at a event with my children simultaneously, so to win a championship is especially meaningful," commented world number 14 the champion.
"This title is in tribute of my child Victoria, because the maiden victory I got when my child Alisa was born was for her."
The tennis star, the former major winner, had failed in his past six title deciders, including in Halle in the past months.
The player's defensive strategy and recurring reactions on court had caused observers to wonder if his capacity to perform at the highest level was over.
However the player has altered his approach in the last few weeks, attempting to advance forward and play aggressively, supported by an improved service.
He fought back from a disadvantage in the first set against the tricky Moutet, securing four of the concluding five games to gain the advantage.
Both players exchanged service breaks in the second set before the challenger, striving for his maiden tour championship, took control to create a final set.
The opponent rescued 4 initial chances in a competitive third set before the Russian secured a break to that score to close out the victory.
Fittingly, the winner earned victory with a point at the net, with Moutet unable to manage a return after over two and a half hours.
